What is the purpose of what you’re doing? Sometimes we tend to do things out of obligation. We feel like we are forced to do such things that we exhaust or burn ourselves out. That’s why we must know our purpose, or our “why” in doing these things. If we don’t know where we are headed to, we will get lost.

Introduction:
What is the purpose of what you’re doing?
- Are you doing it for yourself, for your family or for your friends?
- Are you doing these things because you feel like you are obligated
to fulfill the expectations of other people towards you?
Sometimes we tend to do things out of obligation. We feel like we
are forced to do such things that we exhaust or burn ourselves
out. That’s why we must know our purpose, or our “why” in doing
these things. If we don’t know where we are headed to, we will get
lost.
“Do I base my purpose on my emotions?”
I have listed down these evaluation questions we should keep on asking ourselves whenever we feel like we have lost our direction or the purpose of where we are headed to.
What, who, or where do I base my “why” or my purpose?
- Ask yourself every time you have to make a plan or decision. Ask yourself, “Where is this coming from?” “Is this from God or is it just my selfish ambition?”
“Do I base my purpose on my emotions?”
· Identify what kind of seed you are sowing.
- Are you planting a seed of faith, love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, or self-control?
-Is the seed you are planting a seed of anger, hate, bitterness, envy, jealousy, rage, malice, unforgiveness or etc.?
· If you’re still going through this kind of challenge in focusing on your ‘why’ or your purpose, Mark 12:29-31 says these two great commandments from God:
Mark 12:29-31 NLT
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord . And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
· What IS your MAIN PURPOSE?
1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30)
2. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:31)
Faith expressing itself through love
· I’ve also asked this question to God, “Lord what is really the reason behind everything that I’m doing? What is this really for, Lord?”
-Then God answered me with these verses:
'Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.'

'Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do. '
