What does it really mean to do everything in love? Doing everything for unconditional love, just like what Jesus did.

As for us humans, we struggle a lot in doing this. It’s hard for us who have sinful nature to humble ourselves down and make way for Love to lead us. I have asked some of my friends the question, “For you, what does it mean to do everything in love?”

Some of them responded that it was a hard question to answer, because it really is! Some of them answered that doing everything in love means doing what you’re passionate about even in those times that you feel like what you are doing doesn’t make any sense.

What does the Bible say about “Doing everything in love?”

14Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do. (1 Corinthians 16:14 TPT)

Do everything in Love for Jesus, neither for you nor for other people. Why love for Jesus? As it was said in 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.” Sometimes, when we hear the word “love” we most of the time think about “kilig” or “love only as an emotion,” but as what I’ve mentioned from the previous episode, “What Is Your ‘Why’?,” love is more than what we thought it is. Because of “agape” or God’s unconditional love for us, He chose us even if we don’t deserve it.

When you wash the dishes, clean or sweep the floor, do it all for your Love for Christ. Think of it as if you’re serving Jesus rather than the people around you.

It’'s like for example, you need to accomplish a lot of task and it seems like you can’t even start a thing, keep it inside your mind that whenever stress tries to attack you, remind yourself that you are doing it all for God and not for anyone else, neither for yourself. Sometimes it’s good to pause or “selah”. Sometimes it’s also good to take step back and ask God, “Where am I right now, Lord? Where have I focused my purpose on? Is this what you want for me, Lord or is this what I want only for myself?”

Remember that you are chosen by God. You are chosen simply because God chose you, so whatever it is that Christ has commanded you to do, do it all because you love Him. Stop making excuses!

To be honest with you, we all struggle in some areas of our lives wherein we lose our passion for something we were once to excited about, and when suddenly unexpected trials come our way, we start to doubt our purpose and all the things that God has promised us from the beginning, but I hope that this commandment from God, “Do everything in Love,” is enough for us to keep on going even if it’s exhausting.

Whenever you’re tempted to give up in doing everything in love, remember what Jesus did on the Cross for you, He paid the painful price just to get you back.

1 Corinthians 6: 20 TPT- “

You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!”
